Jennie Ritter was
born and raised in Michigan and attended the University of Michigan
where she played four years on the Michigan softball team. During her
tenure the team won multiple Big Ten Conference championships and made
two trips to the Women’s College World Series. In 2005, she and the
Wolverines made history by being the first team east of the Mississippi
to win a national championship in softball. Jennie pitched her team to
victory in a grueling 4-1 victory in 10 innings over the UCLA Bruins.In
2010, Sports Illustrated created the “Top 10 University of Michigan
Athletes of All Time” list. Jennie Ritter was honored as the ninth-best
athlete of all time for the Wolverines. She was the youngest athlete as
well as the only woman on the list.Also in 2010, Jennie joined forces
with The Q Sport to create iQ Fastpitch, a testing program designed to
test physical athleticism and mental toughness to help young athletes
create a pathway to college by showing them strengths and weaknesses in
their game. Jennie graduated from the University of Michigan with a
bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering and is a
softball analyst on the Big Ten Network. Up until her recent employment
with Louisville Slugger as Fastpitch Business Manager, she was head
coach for the Florida Select 18U Gold Softball Team.
