games for Northridge, making three starts in 2009 ... finished 0-3 with
6.35 ERA on the season ... fanned team-high 11 batters against Fresno

San Mateo County in 2004 ... member of the 2001-2004 undefeated

PERSONAL Born on April 2, 1986 ... stepdaughter of Kristin Luce and
daughter of Bill Grout ... has one younger sister Ryan ... lists the

... one day would like to own a women's sports magazine and promote

Claire pitched for Mercy High School,
Burlingame, and finished her high school league career with a 56-0 win
record. She earned a scholarship and pitched for Towson University in
Maryland where she ended her senior year ranked #58 among the top one
hundred Division I pitchers. She has been a contributing editor to
Softball Magazine for six years and is finishing her Masters degree in
journalism at California State University, Northridge. She recently
completed a documentary, titled “Dear Devils”, about playing softball in
Switzerland for the Wil Devils softball club. Claire is a strong
supporter of women’s athletics and a proponent for building women’s
spiritual and athletic strengths. |
